Launch Berlin Batch Coffee

THE BARN Sony Center

Kick off the 2019 Berlin Coffee Festival with us during our presentation of the BCF Coffee Project! At 7:30h we welcome you at our newest cafe in the Sony Center on Bellevuestraße 1. Be the first to have a coffeeflight of this unique Costa Rican coffee and enjoy these special beans in three different ways: V60, espresso and flatwhite. Our coffee was grown at Finca El Orvo, who have started collaborating with Don Sabino Micromill on black honey processing. Several roasters participating in the Berlin Coffee Festival have bought their share of beans to support the BCF Project Coffee. The proceeds of this project go directly to the local farmers. El Orvo will not be available before October 1st and availability is limited, so make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity to really try something unique. The only place on earth where virtually any variety of the tea plant can be grown and any type of tea can be produced. On our event at Kong, a space revolving around Sichuan culinary culture and art, we will introduce you into the world of Sichuan tea. Marta Dalton: Talk on Sustainable Coffee Farming

Marta Dalton: Talk on Sustainable Coffee Farming

THE BARN Roastery

The first public talk that we host this year will be presented by Marta Dalton (Coffee Bird, Guatemala) and is all about the risks and chances of sustainable farming in Guatemala. Marta comes from a long line of coffee producers. Her family farm, Finca Filadelfia, was one of the first coffee producers in Guatemala, converting cactus land into a coffee farm. The family has been pioneering coffee in Antigua for over a century - and won the first two Cup of Excellence awards hosted in Guatemala. Marta has built a platform that focusses on connecting roasters and growers. Marta will talk not just about sustainable farming of high-quality coffee, but also about ensuring a sustainable future along the whole supply chain - from the coffee picker to the barista handing you your favourite brew. Join us for this inspiring talk on October 1st at 4pm in our Roastery (Schönhauser Allee 8). For directions please visit The Barn's website.
